About Us
District Social Services Administration Boards (DSSABs) were created by the provincial government as municipal agencies tasked with delivering social services in their respective communities.
The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSMSSAB), first formed in 1999, is one of 10 in Northern Ontario and part of 47 Service Managers across Ontario.
Our Board consists of eight locally elected members who represent Sault Ste. Marie (5 members), Prince Township (1 member), and 31 unincorporated townships up to Montreal River (1 member).
DSSAB is responsible for the provision and delivery of Ontario Works, Early Years Services, Housing & Homelessness Services, and Paramedic Services.
