Early Years Services supports families and children in Sault Ste. Marie by:
- Investing in and supporting licensed operators and EarlyON providers
- Providing a central application and wait list for licensed child care
- Providing financial support for licensed child care to eligible families
- Planning for future early years services based on community needs
- Enhancing Early Years programs through Quality Assurance program
- Helping provide special needs resourcing for children
Applying for Child Care
Licensed, high-quality child care and learning programs support safe, healthy childhood development. For the local child care list and to register, visit www.saultchildcare.ca. Centres will contact you when space is available.

Child Care Fee Subsidy
You may be eligible for a child care fee subsidy if:
- Your child is 12 years old or younger
- You are the parent or legal guardian
- You are working, going to school or have a child with special needs
- Your income meets the requirements
Eligibility is based on family income as per your most current Notice of Assessment. If you have lost or misplaced yours, contact the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-8281 for a copy.
Eligibility and contributions will be determined at your appointment.
