Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corporation maintains a diverse portfolio of nearly 920 subsidized, affordable and market rent units.

Contracts to complete capital works projects such as landscaping, electrical, mechanical and energy efficiency are tendered on an annual basis.

In addition to capital works projects, service contracts for day-to-day repairs are also tendered in a variety of areas such as carpentry, electrical and painting services on a typical 5-year term.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

To protect the health and safety of employees in the workplace and the public they serve, individuals visiting a Social Services office for purposes of site visits, meetings, or work must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.

Requirements for Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) & Insurance 

 

Contractors that are awarded Contracts must provide evidence of compliance with the requirements of the Province regarding workplace safety and insurance including payments due thereunder, prior to commencing the work and prior to receiving payment on Substantial and Total Performance of the Work.The Contractor shall keep in force for the duration of the Contract, Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance in an amount not less than five million ($5,000,000.00). Without limiting the foregoing, such Insurance Coverage shall include Comprehensive General Liability, Contractual Liability, Personal Injury and Contingent Liability with respect to Subcontractors.
