The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board is searching for an Infrastructure and Asset Manager (Temporary up to 14 Months) to join our Infrastructure and Development team based in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Infrastructure and Asset Manager oversees the construction, conservation and maintenance of the physical assets for the District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSMSSAB) and the Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corporation (SSMHC).

Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:

• Prepare maintain a comprehensive short, medium, and long term capital work plan and building condition assessments;
• Support the development of the SSMHC capital budget and capital plan in accordance with Building Condition Reports;
• Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and materials for consultant services, rotational contractors and annual contracts. Supervise and review consultant services;
• Prepare, issue, and administer tenders and contracts for capital work projects for the DSSMSSAB and SSMHC capital construction. This may include the use of design software, specifications, estimates, work orders, tenders, proposals and Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) contracts;
• Coordinate inspections and orders from the Electrical Safety Authority and Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services;
• Act as a resource to the management and staff (property management team and social housing providers), as required, for construction related work and tenders;
• Participate in the stand-by/on-call Housing Services rotation as required;
• Ensure policies and procedures are accurately followed, as well as adherence to all professional and provincial and federal regulations and requirements;
• Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, local policies and practices relating to a healthy workplace.

The successful candidate will have the ability to provide effective supervision and leadership, communicate in an effective and tactful manner, contribute routinely as a team member, organize time to meet stringent deadlines and possess a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment. Additional qualifications for this position include:

• Post-secondary Community College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology, or related field, and
• A minimum of (5) years experience in maintenance and residential construction including high rise buildings

Salary Range: $82, 795 to $98, 558
