You Could Be Eligible For a Child Care Fee Subsidy – Here’s How To Find Out

The cost of child care can be a significant expense for families, but financial support may be available.

The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) provides child care fee subsidies to eligible families to help reduce the cost of licensed child care and before-and-after school programs for children under 12.

Eligibility is based on a number of factors, including family income and the reason child care is required, such as employment, education or other approved circumstances. Families who may not have qualified in the past are also encouraged to check their eligibility, as circumstances and child care costs can change.

In a recent SooToday feature, DSSAB shares more about how the child care fee subsidy program works, who may be eligible, and how families can take the first step toward finding out what support may be available to them.
