The exceptional dedication and compassion demonstrated by local emergency responders over the last year were recognized during the annual Heroes of Service Awards hosted by Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District.

Among this year’s recipients was Sault Ste. Marie Paramedic Services’ own Mitch Boyle, who was honoured for his extraordinary commitment to improving lives both on and off duty.

Beyond providing emergency medical care, Mitch has created meaningful experiences for patients and families, including organizing a final Soo Greyhounds game outing for an end-of-life patient, leading annual toy drive initiatives, and helping secure an adaptive bicycle for a young community member living with cystic fibrosis.
