The City of Sault Ste. Marie’s 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.
DSSAB is sharing voting information to help ensure community members, including individuals experiencing homelessness or without a permanent address, understand how and where they can vote.
For election purposes, the place where an individual has most often returned to eat or sleep during the five weeks prior to voting can be considered their permanent address. Individuals without personal identification may also be able to vote by signing a Declaration of Identity at an election location.
Voting locations on Election Day will vary depending on where an individual has most frequently eaten or slept, with designated locations for those accessing the HART Hub, Phoenix Rising Women’s Drop In Centre, Lotus House, Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen, St. Vincent’s Place and Women in Crisis.
Free transit will also be available from locations served by Sault Transit, including for advance voting at the Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+.
