The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) is pleased to be working alongside Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) to support the expansion of licensed, culturally grounded child care in Sault Ste. Marie.
On Sept. 17, DSSAB and the MNO signed a Memorandum of Understanding formalizing our collaboration to develop licensed child care programming that supports Métis children and families in our community.
“DSSAB’s role is to support a strong, coordinated child care system that meets the needs of families across our community,” said Mike Nadeau, District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) CEO. “By working with the Métis Nation of Ontario, we are helping to enhance access to licensed child care and create more opportunities for families to access affordable, high-quality care.”
This partnership will help preserve existing licensed child care spaces while creating new opportunities for affordable, high-quality early learning.
