DSSAB will be joining municipal leaders from across Ontario at the 2026 AMO Conference next week to discuss the issues impacting communities across the province.

Homelessness and housing are among the challenges facing communities across Ontario, with Northern and rural communities experiencing unique pressures. AMO’s latest data shows that nearly 85,000 Ontarians experienced homelessness in 2025, with rates continuing to grow.

Attending AMO provides an important opportunity for DSSAB to connect with municipal leaders, share the experiences and perspectives of our communities, and advocate for the resources and solutions needed in Northern Ontario.

The conference also provides an opportunity to learn from other communities and strengthen relationships with partners working on housing, homelessness and social services.

DSSAB looks forward to being part of these conversations at AMO 2026 and continuing to bring the needs of our communities to the table.
