World Homeless Day, observed annually on October 10, is an opportunity to reflect on the realities of homelessness, honour the resilience of those with lived experience, and reaffirm our commitment to creating positive change. It also encourages greater understanding of the complex challenges that contribute to homelessness, including housing affordability, income insecurity, mental health, addictions, and access to support services.
At DSSMSSAB, addressing homelessness is central to our work. Through housing-focused programs, community partnerships, and advocacy, we remain committed to improving access to safe, stable housing and the supports people need to build healthier, more secure futures.
