Emergency Child Care for Critical Front Line Workers

Emergency child care is available at the YMCA Child Care Centre (McNabb St.) and Child Care Algoma –Dacey Road Child Care (148 Dacey Road) for the children of health care providers and other critical service workers.

The funding for the provision of emergency child care is the result of contributions by the DSSMSSAB and the Ontario Provincial Government.

**Please review the Provincial List of Eligible Workers to see if you qualify for Emergency Child Care.   Please note that all parents/guardians living in the household must be required to report to a work site outside of the home.


Provincial Assistance for Parents

Ontario is offering Emergency assistance to parents with children under the age of 12.

      • $200 for children aged 0-12
      • $250 for children or youth aged 0-21 with special needs
