Job Type: Temporary Full-Time; 35 hour work-week, 8:30am -4:30pm
Hourly Wage: $19.20

About the Opportunity:

The Social Services Summer Student Employment Program is hiring Summer Students for placement in one of the following areas: Kids Being Kids Early Years Program, Housing Division, Human Resources, and Finance. Placement will be determined based on organizational needs, education, and student interest.

Role-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Kids Being Kids – Early Years Program

• Assist in developing and delivering engaging recreational and learning activities
• Support children in a positive, inclusive, and safe environment
• Assist with food preparation and safe food handling, as required

Human Resources

• Support recruitment and onboarding activities
• Assist with employee records, data entry, and administrative support
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of HR operations

Finance

• Assist with general financial and accounting tasks
• Support record-keeping, data entry, budget tracking, and financial reporting

Housing Services

• Provide administrative and program support to Housing Services staff
• Assist with filing, data entry, and general office support

General Responsibilities (All Roles)

• Assist with corporate event planning and coordination
• Perform general administrative duties including filing, typing, email correspondence, and office support • Other duties as assigned

Education & Fields of Study:

Students currently enrolled in or pursuing education in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• Social Services
• Child and Youth Worker
• Early Childhood Education
• Business or Office Administration
• Human Resources
• Finance
• Building Trades
• Architecture or Architectural Technology
• Other related fields

Eligibility:

• Full-time students from the previous academic year who are returning to full-time studies in the next academic year
• Valid G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset
• Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
